In the Cottage garden - July 2012

by -

Rabbit invasion!! They have had the lot ! My carrots, parsnips and beetroots! Well at least the peas and beans are taking off nicely and the potatoes are flourishing. My strawberries are doing well undercover, although I now need some straw to protect them from all this wet we are having. Lots of leeks and onions (rabbits obviously don't care for those much!) and kale. Well it's all a bit of a learning curve for me and to be honest the weather hasn't encouraged me to spend much time in the garden, torrential rain and wind and storms have put paid to that. Hopefully next month will see me eating my strawberries and enjoying my new potatoes - rather than my rabbits! Bring on the sunshine - we need it!
