I went to see Andrea because despite running regularly and going to a yoga class my diet was poor and having an obvious effect on my health. I ate a lot of crisps and chocolate as snacks between generally good meals. I was feeling sluggish, overweight, irritable and had headaches in the afternoons.

Andrea listened to me and fully understood my lifestyle before giving me a plan to improve my diet. What was obvious to Andrea was my blood sugar level swings that resulted in me reaching for a high sugar/carb snack whenever I had a dip.

I have followed her advice and increased on her meals ideas using a low GL cookbook.

Within a fortnight I lost a noticeable amount of weight had tonnes more energy and my headaches stopped.

My family have adapted to our new food very well (except my youngest son who counts the days down to when he visits his grandparents and can have white bread).

I feel like I can eat what I want when I want, it’s just that now I want to eat hummus with carrots and peppers instead of cheesy chips. When I do eat cakes and pastries I eat less than before and feel like my body needs something decent to keep going.

I don’t weigh or measure food. I enjoy food.
