Menopausal Weight Loss Programme

What is it?

Menopausal Weight Management

  • A 12 week programme to lose weight gained as a result of Menopause.
  • Regular Coaching

Why do you need it?

I see many women in my practice that become frustrated with weight gain during their menopause. Very often, women who have never had a weight issue suddenly experience dramatic weight gain that they can’t seem to control or things that once worked now don’t!

The problem is that women in menopause are far more carbohydrate and stress sensitive.

This means the carbohydrates you used to be able to eat may now be too many and may well be affecting your weight around the middle. The stressful exercise and lack of sleep you could tolerate in your younger years, while remaining lean, will now start to show itself on your waistline.

Oestrodiol is a form of oestrogen that regulates metabolism and body weight. When levels drop during the menopause, this can increase the fat that women gain around the middle. During peri-menopause, hormones become imbalanced. Oestrogen can continue to be produced but  often can deposit in the body’s fat cells.

Oestrogen reduces during peri-menopause and post-menopause and this has the effects of lowering the metabolic rate, meaning the body slows down the way it converts glucose into energy. Often in some women, this can cause fat to accumulate especially around the middle.

A lack of oestrogen also causes the body to use starches and blood sugars less effectively which has an impact on metabolism.

Why is it important?

Menopause is a natural occurrence. All women will experience menopause at some stage of their life – some earlier than others. The journey from peri-menopause to post-menopause can for some be a rollercoaster of symptoms and can really affect your day to day life.

If weight gain during menopause has become an issue for you, it is likely that you are experiencing other menopause symptoms. And if you have experienced middle abdomional fat gain thismmay be the more dangerous type of fat known as visceral fat.

Visceral fat is linked to several high-risk medical conditions:

  • Diabetes
  • Strokes
  • Heart disease
  • Cancers

12 weeks of Metabolic Balance Health Management will enable you to re-set, re-boot and re-establish hormonal and metabolic balance

If you are currently suffering from:

  • Mood Swings
  • Irregular Periods
  • Sleep Disturbances
  • Hot Flushes
  • Night Sweats
  • Thinning Hair or Hair Loss
  • Dryness
  • Bone Loss
  • Thyroid Health Issues

It is important to ensure that all Metabolic pathways that support hormonal balance are functioning optimally.

Optimising metabolism, blood sugar balance, liver function, brain health and gut health are all addressed in the Weight Loss for Menopause plan.
