What is ProLon®  FMD?

ProLon® is the first and only Fasting Mimicking Diet on the market. It is a unique 5-day plant-based meal programme that maintains the body in a state of fasting.

How does ProLon® work?

Fasting has numerous health benefits because of its ability to reduce oxidative damage and inflammation, optimize energy metabolism and cellular protection, and re-programme stress resistance pathways. It has been identified to stimulate self-renewal of stem cells and neural regeneration, both of which are altered during periods of inflammation and disease.

The main researcher behind ProLon® (the only Fasting Mimicking Diet), Professor Valter Longo, wanted to make these results realistically achievable because water-only fasting is quite daunting for the average person and can be dangerous if not done properly. What are the benefits?

Clinical results from 5 days of the Fasting Mimicking Diet include promoting healthy levels of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, several markers of inflammation, an average of 5lbs of fat loss (specifically targeting visceral fat) and 1.2 inches off waist circumference. A typical day box contains a variety of bars, soups, snacks, drinks, and supplements. Day 1 is 1100 calories while each of the other 4 days are around 750 calories. While total calories are one dimension of the product, the most important dimension is the proprietary and patented formulation that mimics and enhances a fasting state. Additionally, ProLon® is Gluten and Dairy Free.

Day 1 – Fasting state – ProLon is designed to prime your body into a fasting state so it can begin cellular recycling.

Transition Diet – time to listen to your body and eat foods that are well tolerated; taking it slowly and steadily introducing foods back into your diet to ease you out of fasting

You should start with liquid foods, such as soups and fruit juices, followed by light meals including rice, pasta and small portions of fish, meat, and/or legumes. A normal diet can be resumed on day 7.
